Mentoring Session - Talk Through Your Photography, 1-to-1
A relaxed 45-minute Google Meet call with me. Bring your photos, bring your questions, and let’s work through whatever’s holding your photography back.
Important note: after checkout, you’ll receive a downloadable booking PDF with a private link to book your Google Meet session online, plus simple instructions for sending me your photos beforehand.
There’s only so far you get shooting alone. At some point, what you really need isn’t another tutorial — it’s to sit down with someone who’s been doing this a long time and talk it through properly.
Why your shots aren’t landing. How to get closer to people without freezing up. What to do differently next time you’re out. How to edit a photo so it actually feels like the scene you saw.
That’s what this is.
Forty-five minutes, just the two of us, focused on whatever would help you most.
What we’ll cover — whatever’s useful to you
Your photos
We’ll look through them together and I’ll give you my honest read, live, so you can ask “why?” and push back as we go.
Getting closer to people
The fear of pointing a camera at a stranger stops more photographers than almost anything else. It’s also one of the best things to talk through with someone who’s been there.
Settings, composition, editing
If you’re stuck on the technical side, we can go through that too — camera settings, framing, light, colour, editing, or whatever keeps tripping you up.
The bigger picture
Maybe you’re not stuck on one photo. Maybe you’re trying to work out where to take your photography next. That’s completely fine too.
It’s your session. Come with a stack of questions or just one thing that’s been nagging you. Either way, we’ll make good use of the time.
How it works — nice and easy
After checkout, you’ll receive a downloadable PDF with your private booking link and next steps.
Inside that PDF, you’ll be able to:
Book your Google Meet session online
Choose one of the available 45-minute slots.Send me your photos beforehand
You can send up to five photos, plus the main thing you’d like help with, so I can come to the call properly prepared.Join me on Google Meet
We’ll talk for 45 minutes and work through your photos, questions, confidence, editing, composition, or anything else that feels useful.Get the recording afterwards
Afterwards, I'll send you a recording of our session, so nothing gets lost and you can revisit anything we talked about whenever you like. No need to scribble notes during the call — just be present, and you'll have the whole thing to come back to.
Prefer to start smaller?
If a live call feels like a lot for now, my Photo Critique is the gentler way in — send me three photos and I’ll write you honest, detailed feedback you can read at your own pace.
This Google Meet session is the step up for when you’d rather actually talk it through and ask me anything.
Who it’s for
This is for you if you shoot street, everyday, travel or documentary photography and you’ve reached the point where a real conversation would help more than another video.
Maybe you’re stuck on your images. Maybe it’s confidence. Maybe you’re not sure what to shoot next. Maybe you know something isn’t quite working, but you can’t see what it is yet.
Street and everyday photography is my world, so that’s where I can really help. I’ll leave landscapes, weddings and wildlife to the specialists.
Why it’s worth it
You can find a thousand tutorials for free, but not one of them can look at your photos, hear your specific worry, and answer it there and then.
That’s the one thing free content can’t give you: real time, one-to-one, with someone who’s walked the streets for years and knows how frustrating this type of photography can be.
I’d be glad to spend three-quarters of an hour helping you with yours.
